* ELECT MICHAEL NOLAN * ROCKTON TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR * VOTE APRIL 1, 2025
I believe in one true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who exists eternally as the Trinity- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came in the flesh, was crucified, died for our sins, and rose again on the third day, offering salvation to all who believe. Through the Holy Spirit, God empowers us to live out our lives according to His will as we await the second coming of Christ.
From this faith flows a divine order that shapes every aspect of life— personal, family, marriage, work, relationships, community, and even local governance. This order and divine wisdom were recorded and preserved in a book we know as the Bible.
In it you'll find when God established the foundation for morals, justice and freedom in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17), which provide the moral framework for society. This principle is evident in Biblical governance, as seen in Exodus 18:20-21, where Moses was instructed to teach the people God's laws and appoint trustworthy leaders to govern fairly. Similarly, Deuteronomy 16:18 emphasizes the call for judges to lead with righteousness, ensuring justice and impartiality.
The Bible goes on to say that Jesus Christ commanded His followers to disciple all nations (Matthew 28:19-20), baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and commissioned His church to advance God's truth in every sphere of life. Jesus gave us a job to do as He declared to Peter, '...On this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it' (Matthew 16:18). This emphasizes the vital role of Godly leadership—Gatekeepers—in shaping and strengthening communities.
It’s worth noting that the word 'church' did not exist until centuries later. Jesus was referring to the ecclesia, a term rooted in ancient Greece where townspeople gathered in the town square to decide who would govern their community. This highlights the responsibility of faithful, God-honoring leadership in guiding civic and spiritual life.
As I run for Rockton Township Supervisor, I do so with a Biblical, historical, and constitutional perspective. The Constitution of the United States reflects this divine order, protecting God-given rights and providing a structure for harmony within communities.
I envision Rockton Township as a thriving, interconnected community where cities, villages, schools, and libraries work together in harmony, reflecting a God-ordained order. Together, we can protect freedom, cultivate an environment that raises the next generation of leaders grounded in Biblical and constitutional principles, and inspire civic duty in the pursuit of justice. Let us work for the prosperity of all, guided by the eternal truths of God’s Word and the wisdom He grants to those who seek Him.
